Please join us in the media center for story time the week of January 10th. We will learn about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s life, accomplishments, and impact on society. We will conclude story time with creating thank you cards for display in the media center. This activity is perfect for students in grades 1st and 2nd. Students in Pre-K and kindergarten will listen to My Itty Bitty Bio: Martin Luther King, Jr. and color a book mark. For students in grades 3rd though 5th, we will challenge students to ESCAPE the media center by completing tasks focused on Dr. King's life and accomplishments. NASA's Space HelicopterSign your fourth and fifth graders up to learn about the planet Mars. Students will bring his or her Chromebooks to this hands-on scavenger hunt. After story time students will create 3D virtual pumpkins using the Quiver app. Let's Build the Largest Pumpkin that FME has EVER SEEN! It is a zany story about a 700 year old female witch and an 800 year old male witch are on a hunt to find the vanishing pumpkin. During this lesson we will add 100 orange squares per class to build a pumpkin with 800 pieces! Virtual Author Event with Kwame Mbalia, author of the Tristan Strong seriesSign your class up to attend in the media center or in your classroom October 15th at 1:00pm. In this session the author will discuss his writing process and share African and West African tales.
Students will work in pairs to participate in this fun review of world geography. Pairs will pick a world location card and then work together to drive the Sphero to the location.
